Park Jimin was born on Octuber 13, 1995 in Busan, South Korea. His family consists of his dad, mom and a younger brother. Before debuting as a member of BTS, he was at Busan High School of Arts as the top student in modern dance, there he studied contemporary dance. Because of his great dance skills, a teacher suggested he audition with an entertainment company. Once he passed the auditions of Big Hit Entertainment in 2012, he transferred to Korea High School with Taehyung, graduatin in 2014. JImin was valedictiorian in his pre-debut years (highest ranked student aka no.1 overall) and he was class president for 9 years.
On June 13, 2013, he debuted. In the group, Jimin holds the position of vocalist and dancer. Under BTS, he has released two solo tracks: "Lie" and "Serendipity". The song "Lie" was released in 2016 on the album Wings. It was described as dazzling and dramatic, conveying dark undertones and emotions that helped reflect the overall concept of the album. In contrast, "Serendipity" from the Love Yourself: Her album released in 2017 was soft and sensual, unraveling the joy, conviction and curiosity of love.
"Promise" is an unofficial song written by Jimin with RM's help which was released on December 31, 2018. The track is about loving yourself. Although JImin wrote the song for himself, it's also a message to fans. He sings that Armys should be their own light so that they can find the strength to love themselves through thick and then. In the end, he sings that fans should link their pinky fingers and promise that they'll love themselves.
